You will receive your registration report time in your confirmation e-mail. Do not be late. All interview appointments for both days of TRD USA will be scheduled on the FIRST DAY of the event. How to schedule interviews will be covered during the orientation session at the start of the first day.. It is essential that you plan your schedule to arrive on time for this orientation.
For details on arrival and what to bring with you, see TRD USA Prep for Success - Making the Most of TRD USA.
TRD signup rounds are conducted in a manner intended to give candidates increased contact with employers and a clearer understanding of whether or not they should take the opportunity to interview with a given district.
During interview sign-ups, candidates will proceed to the main interview room(s) to network and sign up with as many school districts as time allows. You will have 90 minutes to move from school district to school district to sign up for as many interviews as you wish. While you will be able to network with recruiters and have your questions about their districts and opportunities answered, please use your time and that of the recruiter carefully.
If you have carefully conducted your research in anticipation of interviews, you will have already begun to determine which districts will offer you the best career opportunities. You may still have one or two questions you need to have answered before deciding whether or not to interview, and this is your opportunity to ask those questions. Be business-like and professional in asking your questions and deciding whether or not to commit to an interview time. Be brief, sign up for an interview if you feel it is a good opportunity, and move to the next district on your list.
You may discover that a recruiter's schedule is full or that you are initially unable to find a mutually agreeable time slot for an interview. There are, however, often changes in recruiter and candidate schedules which you may be able to take advantage of. There are always school district schedules that have openings in the high demand fields and/or candidates who cancel their interview appointments after the sign-up rounds. When any of these situations occurs, a notice will be posted on an OPEN INTERVIEW BOARD.
If you qualify for the certification area that the school district representative is seeking and you are available at the time the interview is scheduled, you can take the notice from the board and turn it into one of the attendants at the desk in the main interview room. The attendant will then schedule you for the appointment. Candidates have obtained many additional interviews by watching the Open Interview Board throughout the two days of TRD USA.
